Beginner Woodworking Projects

Article by Bill

Hi, I’m Bill,

I think I can say, I’ve made just about most things it’s possible to make out of wood, both as a hobby (which I love) and to earn a living.

But, the most crucial aspect of every wood project is the quality of the woodworking patterns you start with. No matter what your level of skill, whether you’re skilled or at the beginner woodworking stage, if you don’t start with high-quality woodwork plans, then you’ve got no likelihood of accomplishment.

Bad plans and instruction means a bad end outcome.

A good, and straightforward to follow woodworking plan, means a high-quality end result. In fact, it means a great finished item to be proud of.

And this applies ‘right across the board’, from rocking horse plans to crib plans, from bunk bed plans to bookcase plans, from crafts woodworking to expert woodworking carpentry.

Passing on my know-how of woodworking to others is one of my loves. Any kind of diy woodworking gives enormous satisfaction when you accomplish the desired result. And this applies whether you’re making something just to look at or whether it’s something practical that you can use.

Now, whether you’re a new woodworker, or you have years of experience, the outcome result is determined by the quality of the woodworking patterns you use. Above all, they must be accurate and easy to follow. If they’re not, you’ve got no chance of making anything decent. I’ve seen plenty of people give up because of a bad woodworking design. And over the years I’ve thrown out more woodwork plans than I’ve kept back.

I’ve been a carpenter all my working life, from building work to constructing small, intricate displays. It’s been my hobby as well as providing my income.

There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a completed woodworking project. And, of course, having others admire your work.

Over the years I have gathered, and used, an enormous collection of woodworking books and woodworking plans covering just about everything you could think of to make things from wood. To read and study them all would take about 10 years. But what we’re interested in here is hand woodworking. I’m sure you don’t really want to learn about the building and construction industry, so I’ve whittled it down (pardon the pun!) to the very best of my collection.

The knowledge I’ve gained over the years has been tremendous. That’s why I’m writing this. If I can pass some of my experience onto others who share my interest, then the skill and art of woodwork will be enjoyed and appreciated for many years.

So I’m pleased to share my experience of carpentry and wood projects with you. And as I said, I very happy to help you if you want to get into woodwork as a hobby, or if you’re doing some ‘diy’ around the home.

Get it correct from the start and a woodwork hobby is one of the most enjoyable pastimes there is. Most of all, enjoy your woodworking,

Bill
