Can’t wait to see the Game of thrones dvd prologue scene? Or how about the finding of the direwolf pups? Or maybe our first bit of dialogue between Daenerys and Viserys? Well your wait just got two weeks shorter as HBO has announced that they will air a sneak peek of the first episode of Game of Thrones on April 3rd at 9 PM. From what I have heard, this sneak peek will cover roughly the first 15 minutes of the premiere (a revised press release confirms this). It will be available online at HBO.com immediately after airing! Here is a snippet of the (revised) press release from HBO:

HBO will present – for the first time – a sneak peek of the first 15 minutes of the first episode of a new series when GAME OF THRONES EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW debuts SUNDAY, APRIL 3 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Following this one-time-only play, GAME OF THRONES EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW will be available immediately on hbo.com and HBO Go, and will be available on HBO On Demand beginning Monday, April 4.

The HBO presentation of GAME OF THRONES EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW will be followed by the debut of Part Three of the HBO Miniseries presentation MILDRED PIERCE at 9:15 p.m. (ET/PT).

Winter Is Coming: HBO sure is doing everything they can to get people excited for this show. Which is a good thing. They know how big this can be. Looking forward to getting our first look at all of these great moments and scenes. Although this tease is going to make the two week wait until the full premiere almost unbearable!UPDATE: HBO confirms that this is an error on HBO Canada’s part. Both HBO and HBO Canada will only air one episode on April 17th. The listing has since been corrected on HBOCanada.com.

According to HBO Canada’s site, it sounds like April 17th will bring us not one, but TWO episodes of Game of Thrones. The site, which is restricted to Canadians only, says “Don’t miss the special 2 episode premiere on April 17th at 9 PM ET/MT.” Screen shot provided courtesy of @schmeis.Winter Is Coming: Well this is a surprise. I don’t think HBO Canada was supposed to mention this yet as we have heard nothing from HBO about it. But if HBO Canada is going to do it, HBO in the US will certainly do it as well. No way they would let HBO Canada air an episode before them. And it does make sense as True Blood will likely premiere in June so doubling up Thrones on the first week will allow HBO to fit it in.Winter Is Coming: Best. Day. Ever. This looks to be a longer, more epic version of the trailer HBO screened to critics at TCA press tour in Jan. So many awesome shots in this one. Told you guys the Wall is amazing! And was that an Other I spotted? Can’t wait for the screen caps. Now pardon me, while I go watch it a dozen more times.Remember those days a couple weeks back where the news was coming in drips and drabs? Those days are long gone. Fresh off this morning’s exciting announcement about Dance, comes a new Artisans video from Making Game of Thrones. This one features supervising art director Paul Inglis and covers one of my favorite aspects of production, concept art.Winter Is Coming: Loved this video! Probably my second favorite one behind the Maisie Williams one. I just love seeing concept art. All of it looks pretty fantastic. And holy crap at that Red Keep shot! This show is going to be epic. The long wait is (almost) over, ASoIaF fans! James Hibberd of Entertainment Weekly has broken the news (and GRRM confirms it) that A Dance with Dragons will publish on July 12th, 2011 in the US. George R. R. Martin is not finished the book yet, but is close enough that the publisher has decided to announce the date. Hibberd has a couple quotes from Martin as well and promises more in an interview to be published in the print-version of this weeks EW.

A Dance With Dragons will be published on July 12. The manuscript is huge — the publisher estimates the hardcover edition will run more than 900 pages, putting it about the same length as the longest book in the series, A Storm of Swords. Schedule your summer vacation accordingly.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What took so long?GEORGE R. R. MARTIN: I’m not sure I have a good answer. If I did, I would have taken less time. It’s enormous. It’s as long as A Storm of Swords. It’s very complicated. I have a lot of characters and points of view. And I’ve been doing a ton of rewriting, trying to get it where I wanted it to be. Some of these chapters I’ve rewritten more times than I can count before I’m satisfied with them.
