Canada’s Free Criminal Records Online

Article by Ben Gee

A fairly huge amount of Canada Arrest Records is stored at the state archives this time. This should not be a surprise since Canada is now a home to more than 34 million people and is the world’s second largest country when it comes to land area. All arrests that happened in this North American country are registered by the law enforcers and are filed for future references.

In its ordinary and natural sense, arrest means the deprivation of a person’s liberty. By criminal law, it denotes the seizure and taking of someone into legal custody. As a rule, police officers and other members of the law enforcement bodies are authorized to perform the arrest of someone with proper documents coming from the courts. Contrary to what others may believe, detention does not necessarily lead to one’s criminal conviction. But, it may have serious implications on the involved person.

In this country, files concerning various criminal activities are stored in the Criminal Records Information Management Services. It is a consolidated repository maintained by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police of the Canadian Police Information Center, starting in 1972. In general, it gives access to all guilty verdicts that are not pardonable, all sorts of criminal offenses, un-served warrants and charges, court orders and other important details that can be of much help to police investigators.

Unfortunately, these records may trouble you in your whole lifetime and can be revealed when authorized people do a criminal background check. Now, it is good news that these files can already be removed or expunged. In Canada, this can be accomplished after lawbreakers have shown exceptional good behavior for a time. Sadly, some requests for this matter were denied by the government for some reasons.

Notably, a pardon can only be granted by any of the following authorized officials: Governor General of Canada, National Parole Board or through an order-in-council by the federal government, depending on the nature of the crime committed. An arrest record reveals personal information of the person concerned, including photographs, fingerprints, addresses and details regarding the arrest.

Acquiring Free Public Arrest Records can now be done through the different government offices or through the Internet. So you can save time, energy and money, it is better to turn to either free or paid online services. Between the two kinds of assistance available over the Internet, the most agreeable service and results only come from those trusted sites that necessitate you to pay a little amount only.
