ESPN Suspends Tony Kornheiser For Being Himself

Many sports fans consider this time of year the “dry season.” College and pro football is over, the interminably long NBA regular season has more than 20 games yet to be played, spring training has not yet begun, and March Madness is still weeks away. Winter Olympics notwithstanding, there’s not a lot going on.

Even during the “dry season,” however, television and radio honks have to talk about something. Occasionally one will talk too much, and something like this happens.

ESPN television personality Tony Kornheiser was suspended Tuesday for remarks he made about fellow anchor Hannah Storm on his local Washington, D.C. radio show.

Kornheiser, who is co-host of the popular show “Pardon the Interruption,” made his comments Friday, expressing chagrin at what Storm, 47, was wearing. Calling her outfit horrifying, the talk show host said Storm’s blouse was so tight that it looked like “sausage casing,” and that her skirt was “way too short for somebody” her age.

According to Kornheiser, no woman in her late 40s (actually, he posited that Storm may be over 50) should be on the air in a “Catholic school plaid skirt.”

He either realized he had gone too far with his remarks, or he was told so (I suspect the latter), because he apologized for his remarks, both personally and on the air. ESPN decided an apology wasn’t enough, however, and suspended Kornheiser for two weeks.

I may be in the minority here, but I think the suspension was too harsh.

ESPN is suspending Tony Kornheiser for doing what they hired him to do, what they pay him to do. He’s not a reporter per se; he is the on-air equivalent of an opinion columnist. He’s paid to offer opinions on sports-related topics, and if all his opinions were run-of-the-mill and milquetoast in tone, he’d be out of a job. Kornheiser’s job-as well as that of his PTI partner Michael Wilbon-is to be provocative.

Now, you could argue that Kornheiser’s comments were professionally discourteous, and I’d have no problem with that argument. It is bad form to publicly trash a colleague, particularly one from the same network.

But otherwise, the comments he made were not out of character. Kornheiser evinces strong opinions. He criticizes people. He pokes fun at people, including himself. This is another of the reasons I don’t think he should have gotten more than a reprimand from the network.

If you’ve ever seen Tony Kornheiser, you know he’s not the slightest bit telegenic. He’s sixtyish, balding, and nebbishy, and speaks with a whiny Long Island honk of an accent. Heck, Hannah Storm could probably kick the crap out of him. Kornheiser knows this, and picking on himself is part of his shtick.

Hence this quote, with which he opened his radio show on the day after HannahGate: “I’m a troll, look at me. I have no right to insult what anybody looks like or what anybody wears. That, I think, should go without saying.”

He apologized on the air. He apologized to Hannah Storm. That, plus a small verbal whack on the wrist from the Mother Ship, should have been enough for a first offense. Instead, ESPN is essentially suspending Kornheiser for being himself.

Punishing someone for simply doing his job is not without precedent at the Worldwide Leader. In 2003, the network hired Rush Limbaugh to be a panelist on Sunday NFL Countdown. Limbaugh quickly became embroiled in a flap regarding on-air remarks about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.

“The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well, black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well,” Limbaugh said. “There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn’t deserve.”

ESPN summarily fired Limbaugh for racially insensitive commentary, and at the time, I thought, For what? I mean, what did ESPN expect from one of the most-if not the most-provocative celebrity in the country, one with a history of racial insensitivity? As repugnant as I find Limbaugh personally, I don’t think he should have been fired. He was doing what he was hired to do.

Just like Tony Kornheiser.

Just playing around with cubes in C# with XNA 4.0. Never really got into 3D before so with the release of XNA 4 I thought I’d give it a go. I’m still a bit confused about BasicEffect’s lightning. When the cubes rotate their light direction is also affected 🙁 Also, pardon my very slow typing, I was still partially asleep, lol

Question by experienced: Why do Presidents “pardon” Turkey on thanksgiving? Will yahoo prove me right by erasing my question?
Presidents on thanksgiving pardon turkey? Why? What did turkeys do to presidents that they have to pardon one of them and then slaughter the rest? Don’t people eat turkey every day? What is special about that particular day of slaughter?

This is the story. The pilgrims, which were religious people came from Europe and landed on American’s soil. All religious people have parasites on them. The parasites are the residue of the insects and animals that have eaten the dead that the religious people worship. All these religious people are baptized. When people are baptized, they give up right of their body to the dead they worship to inhabit it. Since the dead are dead and only the insects that eat the dead are alive, so these insects in the form of parasites make the religious people their temples and their mobile vehicles. So all religious people are parasitic inside and outside the body. Some even have live maggots of the dead they worship inside them.

Once the parasites take possession of the body, they control that person. So the pilgrims brought their parasities with them which they called spirits. The parasites in turn call those insects that are greater then them gods, goddesses, angels, and the like. So when they enter America, which was supposed to be their promise land regardless that the land was inhabited first by religious indians, then, the parasites which were there on the land first start fighting with the newcomers. So native Indian parasites fought with pilgrim parasites. The parasites in the soil and in the air attacked the parasites brought by the pilgrims and were decimating the newcoming insects and their mobile temples, the worshipers.

So, the poor turkeys, ruled by parasites as well, came to eat the decimating decaying pilgrims, which were filling the place with maggots and other parasites, because turkeys cannot help it since they have to eat worms and things that unsanitize the planet. Even the parasites on them cannot help them from doing what they were born to do. So the parasites on the pilgrims, angry that the parasites on the turkey were eating the “holy” parasites hatched by the dead temples, the human pilgrims, turned on the turkeys and start killing them. Killing the tukeys killed the enemy parasites, thereby avenged those “holy parasites” that were consumed by such enemies. So, the bloodshed and slaughters of the turkey, intimidation, made the enemy parasites capitulate and the parasites on the pilgrim won. To this day, parasites on the descendants of the religious worshipers continue this method of intimidation.

Since then, the blood of the poor turkeys, which turkeys are on the planet to keep it clean from vermins, is being shed even by presidents, which religious presidents are temples of parasites as well. The Turkey as all animals with blood and heart, including ourselves, are punished by death for killing insects which consider themselves superior than the temples they inhabit.

So, when you see presidents pardon a turkey and you see that people cannot wait to gorge themselves on poor turkeys, know that you have seen aliens, insect viruses, at their best. So the descendants of the insects that live on the pilgrims are still intimidating the descendants of the insects that live on the turkeys. Just like us, the turkey is the temple of the vermins, although the poor turkey didn’t get baptized and didn’t pledge its body to the bloodless and heartless vermins. But vermins, bloodless and heartless, have conquered our species, the ones with blood, and have turned them into temples, mobile vehicles, slaves, and all types of objects. So the temples are destroyed due to parasites fighting among themselves for whatever the eaters of the dead desire.

The bloodless and the heartless make themselves the gods, goddesses, angels, masters, and what have you of earth. Like we make airplanes, cars, and warships, so the insects who eat the dead and pass themselves for our love ones, have made us their mobile temples and vehicles and exploit or fear of the unknown.

They are just alien invaders. Bacteria that multiply and filll our world.

We don’t belong here or they don’t belong here. One thing that is clear, the two groups cannot share this same space called earth. They, the insects, talking through the people, claimed that they come from space. They cannot talk, but they use ventriloquism to talk. The made us their puppets, their speakers. So they told us that they don’t belong here. Therefore, use antibacterial bombs to anninhilate them. Let everyone use antibacterial soaps made without meat, antibacterial spray made without meat, antibacterial lotion made without meat, and everything should be antibacterial and bug repellent. Since they mimic the ead, they don’t have blood. That is why theylove blood and love to shed blood. They are roaches, spiders, moths, fish, and all ceatures without heat and blood. Some manages to have fake heart

The presidential turkey pardon is kind of a tongue-in-cheek joke started by George H.W. Bush in 1989. The rest of your post made no sense.

Quicker than the tarp method and easier on the knees too! I made this method because my knees and ankles are too fragile for the tarp method. The clay came from the subsoil in my back garden and I built a shed with it. Hope muddy and others like it. There is another method to build walls called leicht leim. This one uses just straw and clay. I think the wet straw clay mix is compressed in place into forms and ends up resembling fiberboard. www.networkearth.org has some details (I have seen it but not done light clay)

When Does Tony Rezko Get Pardoned?

Article by Gene Lalor

Just in time for Thanksgiving so that deserving drug runners could be home with their families for the holiday and pick up where they left off selling cocaine and pot, President Barack Hussein Obama pardoned four of them and threw in a convicted gambler just for the jollies. It’s just too bad Antoine Rezko missed the cut.

Antoine Who?

It’s easy to forget Antoine, Tony, if you ever heard of him in the first place. His case received precious little publicity from Obama’s MSM because of close his close ties to the president. Indeed, in a lengthy Chicago Tribune article on the sentencing of the convicted extortionist, Obama’s name isn’t even mentioned.

Tony is in a disreputable class with Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Rashid Khalidi, Floyd Mayweather, Michael Pfleger and a whole host of others, i.e., unmentionable by the mainstreamers who have been downplaying or ignoring the president’s unseemly and seamy relationships with reprobates for years in the hope that the electorate won’t notice.

And many still haven’t.

Speaking of years, the Syrian-born Rezko got 10 1/2 of them “for extorting millions of dollars from firms seeking state business or regulatory approval while he was a top fundraiser and adviser to then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich.”

Prior to that gig, he had been a good Obama buddy during his pre-White House years. Rezko, real estate developer-extortionist, was the pre-eminent Chicago Obama patron who set up the future president in his posh pad and went on to become Obama fundraising bundler extraordinaire after that smelly deal.

You won’t read much about it in the MSM so read all about it here, all about the smelliness in which then-Illinois State Senator Obama paid $ 300,000 less than the asking price of $ 1.65 million for the property that served as his launching pad to the presidency.

Quite a coup! Or was it quite the scam?

Either way, his corrupt wheeling and dealing finally caught up with Ol’ Tony Rezko, even if it hasn’t yet caught up with Barack Obama. United States District Judge Amy St. Eve called denounced Rezko’s conduct and his “greed and . . . thirst for power.”

In an expression of contrition, Obama’s now-former buddy confessed that “there are no words to describe the pain and regret” and apologized to the court and his family for his misdeeds.

No apologies were offered to the American people for helping foist this president on us and for that omission Obama will surely set him free with his next round of pardons. After all, what are old friends for?(See all sources at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=6798.)

Blair Rewards Foreign Policy Goals Unwanted By The Middle Class, But No Complaints From Tony

Article by Bobby Blair

Democracy is having a voice. Unfortunately, as a result of the Blair rewards, the middle class has no voice. Former Prime Minister Tony Blair was sitting in the catbird seat. The foreign policy goals that began to draw Blair rewards complaints by the middle class went utterly disregarded by the former Prime Minister.

Most people would agree that the actions taken by political leader over the past decade were an abysmal demonstration of the way that democracy is supposed to work. The blair rewards that were provided to only those who supported Tony Blair drew complaints, but the voices went unaddressed. The UK is a fantastic country, yet they are in the middle of difficult economic strife and have been painted into a corner by their leadership.

Amidst Blair rewards complaints are some after the fact encore complaining. Many in the UK want Tony to stand trial for violating international law regarding the War in Iraq and execution of Saddam Hussein. More than likely Tony has already thought of this and has already paid the Blair rewards far forward, making it so if he were to stand trial he would be ultra Teflon coated and/or granted a pardon.

The blairrewards marketing program worked well of Tony as an individual. He now has a handsome consulting position making millions of dollars a year to consult over business and commerce in the Middle East.

He clearly met his goals in regards to driving international policy to a place where the rest of the country is suffering as a result. The middle class had issues with his appointments that included rather junior individuals that had supported him in the past. The basic rule during his reign was simply, back Tony and rewards will follow. The Blair rewards complaints of the middle class were dismissed like children from school.

Tony is now positioned to make a lucrative living as a consultant to the same big businesses that helped him raid the treasury. The middle class gets it, but democracy somehow failed them in their time of need. The only justice against the blairrewards was in his failure to be re-elected for the next term of office.

It does not look like it damaged Tony Blair very much. He simply stepped down and started to cash in on the entire encore Blair rewards program that he had been putting together during his time in office. The people suffer, but it is not his problem. Based on the record of complaints it does not seem like he had much of a problem with others suffering so long as he met his goal.

Marley Masters is a concerned advocate of the direction of the world of politics. The blair rewards complaints are mere stepping stones in the deception of modern politics. Some day the blairrewards will come to an end. Until then, Tony is sitting pretty with no complaints.
